Scott D. Fisher
Scott D. Fisher focuses his practice in the areas of estate planning and probate, domestic partnership law, real estate transactions and litigation, and business formation, transactions, and litigation. In addition, Mr. Fischer has represented clients in litigation involving racial, gender, and sexual orientation discrimination and sexual harassment within the areas of public accommodations and employment. He has also assisted clients in serious personal injury and wrongful death actions involving auto, truck, motorcycle, and pedestrian accidents, as well as premises liability and professional malpractice.
Mr. Fisher devotes a large part of his practice to providing for the legal needs of the LGBT community, including drafting domestic partnership agreements and prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, as well as representing clients in domestic partnership dissolutions. In addition, he has gained valuable experience and insight as a mediator of domestic partnership disputes. He also assists his LGBT clients with all of their estate planning needs, as well as with their business and real estate needs. In each aspect of his practice, Mr. Fisher is determined to provide the legal protection, security, and peace of mind that all individuals and families deserve. He strives to provide his clients with the utmost in professionalism, while retaining a personalized, hands-on approach that clients should expect and deserve from a trusted legal advisor.
Mr. Fisher began practicing law in 1987 after obtaining his Juris Doctorate from Arizona State University and being admitted to practice before all state and local courts in California. He began his career at a medium-sized law firm where he gained the knowledge and experience to open his own firm. In 1995, he founded the law firm of Scott D. Fisher & Associates, A Professional Corporation in Los Angeles. Only six years later, Mr. Fischer opened a regional office in Palm Springs in order to provide much needed legal services for the LGBT community. In addition to serving the LGBT community, Mr. Fisher represents professionals, retirees, the Jewish community, and the Hispanic community. He is fluent in Spanish.
In addition to running a successful law firm, Mr. Fisher is a dedicated to helping the community. He currently works as a volunteer attorney at Bet Tzedek, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing quality legal services to low-income and elderly citizens. In addition, he is a former board member and officer of the Wishva Foundation, a charitable organization established for pediatric cancer research benefitting the Children's Hospital Los Angeles.
